Recipe: Thalipeeth Using Phondaghat Thalipeeth Bhajni

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Phondaghat Thalipeeth Bhajni
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1-2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • Ghee or oil, for cooking

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Thalipeeth Bhajni with chopped onion, tomato, green chilies, coriander leaves, sesame seeds, and salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the mixture, kneading it into a firm dough. The dough should be soft but not sticky.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a lemon).
  4. Place a ball of dough between two plastic sheets or on a clean cloth and press it with your fingers to form a round, flat disc about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Heat a skillet or tawa over medium heat and grease it lightly with ghee or oil.
  6. Place the Thalipeeth on the hot tawa and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crisp.
  7. Serve hot with yogurt, chutney, or pickle.

Enjoy the wholesome, earthy flavors of a classic Maharashtrian meal!
