We Begin with Care | Happy Gudi Padwa
Gudi Padwyachya Hardik Shubhechha!
A happy new year to all of you!
And on the first day of the new year, we are up against a colossal challenge, a 21 Days Lockdown, a little something most of us haven’t experienced before. The crisis is colossal and so are the measures. This lockdown means apart from exempted essential services, the whole country stands still, no office, no schools, no getting out of the houses, no freedom, no nothing. Yay or nay?
It is difficult but let’s make it yay!
It is a 21-day lockdown and do you know why 21 is good? It is believed that it takes 21 days to build a new habit. So, we have three weeks to make a change or change. Being the first day after the so-called new moon day, the moon will start to appear and soon will be the perfect lunar shine. Many of us celebrate this day of this month as their new year. Interestingly, as per the Brahma Purana, it is believed that the universe was created on this day by Lord Brahma.
Today is our day one of 21 Days Lockdown, a new day, a new moment with all the will and grace, no matter how tedious or tiresome, we get a chance to breathe in a new life into our world, our ecosystem. Every little contribution counts. We have the capacity to reset this calamity and prevent the unfortunate.
Charity begins at home, let’s stay there. That’s what ourcountry needs! Many of us haven’t shown the sincerity and have just not caredfor what’s needed. We still have time, 21 days to prove that we still care.
Day One: Let’s begin with Care.
Care for yourself and others around you. Stay home! it’s not just your life you are putting at risk with your escapades, it is all of us’. Stay put and indoors, avoid getting out of the house at all costs. If there need be, gear up with all the necessary precautions and be back as soon. Once home, clean yourself and maintain hygiene. We need to practice cleanliness of our own self as well as our environment, as a responsibility.
Spend time with your family, put your devices aside. Brew a good pot of tea or coffee and share memories, and make new ones. This family time, however it is, also comes as a blessing. Be together, motivate and be for each other. The panic is rapid and unnerving elder individuals by every passing minute. Comfort them, show that your care and be at their call whenever they need you. Teach your younger ones what is right and see to it that they follow responsibly. Steer clear from ludicrous forwarded messages, refer to recognized sources and most importantly – DO NOT PANIC!
Your family needs you and however dramatic it may sound – Your country needs you!
Gudi Padwa / Ugadi is also celebrated to honour the coronation of Lord Rama in Ayodhya after his victory over evil. Lord Rama spent 14 years in the forest, all we have to do is remain in the house for 21 days. Definitely, a much comfortable setting.
You can be a hero by staying home.
A chance like this is rare,
so don’t screw this up,
show that you care!
With love,
Team Phondaghat
